The transition from AAMI TIR34 to ANSI/AAMI ST108 represents both the greater awareness of the importance of water quality to successful sterile processing operations and an opportunity for managers of these departments to collaborate with their colleagues in other departments through multidisciplinary water management teams. This presentation will cover the essentials of water quality, how it is defined by ANSI/AAMI ST108 and what is needed for alignment, and lastly how sterile processing can work with colleagues in facilities and infection prevention to ensure water quality does not become a limiting factor.
